The world looks and feels quite different this morning after the clear message sent to President Trump and MAGA base.

While it had already been predicted that there was going to be a Blue Wave in last night’s midterm elections and that the Democrats would surely take back control of the house of representatives, it was unclear if they could also flip control of the Senate.
It became clear fairly early in the evening that things were not going to go well for President Trump and the Republican Party, as the blue wave became a tsunami and sent a clear message of repudiation to President Trump and this do-nothing congress that enough was enough.
So big was the democratic victory last night that not only did they take full control of the house and senate, but they turned Big Red Texas blue with not just a democratic senator winning but also knocking off decade long republican incumbent Governor Abbott. Compound this with major upsets in Kansas, Iowa, and South Carolina (turns out people prefer experience and legitimate candidates over nepotism of one warm body to replace the recently deceased).

Here are some key takeaways from last night’s midterms:
- This was clearly a message to President Trump that promises made should be kept.

- The everyday American not a part of the connected elite is struggling paycheck to paycheck, trying to not fall behind on high interest rate credit cards, not happy with expensive gas prices, and unaffordable housing.
- Nobody besides Israel thought war with Iran was a good idea and is not buying that Iran was two weeks away from a nuclear weapon and about to nuke Los Angeles.
- Political Rhetoric 101, you do not under any circumstances give a rally speech where you talk about how much money the oil companies are making in profits from the high gas prices when people cannot afford to travel for the holidays and struggle to put food on the table.
- “Are we still talking about the Epstein files?” You bet your pizza and grape soda we have not forgotten about Epstein.

Key benefits of the midterm election:
- A divided government is always best for the country as it forces both sides to work together if you want to get anything done.
- Markets and economy love divided government as it creates a “goldilocks” government, not too crazy left, and not too crazy right, just moderate common-sense policy good for all Americans.
- Trump now is forced to govern the way our constitutional republic democracy is supposed to work, not with executive orders that the president has no power or authority to implement, but rather through a bipartisanship congress, creating laws. If not, then the President will join our useless congress on the sidelines for the next two years.
Last night if nothing else, showed that there is still common sense and hope for American Democracy. It did not and should not matter if you are Democrat or Republican. It only mattered Right versus Wrong. It matters how things are, not what you say, think, or feel but rather what IS!
Now, the next and most important question to be raised is “What will the Democrats do with this momentum and power? Do they realize this was not a victory for their party but rather a major loss for the other side?”
