The Great Western Experiment
America Turns 250
While two hundred and fifty years may seem like a long time when it comes to a country or a people’s group, it is really a short amount of time span. Especially when compared to our roots of classical Greek and Roman Empire.
In a world that has historically been ruled and governed by Emperors and Monarchs and often, tyrants, the United States has become an anomaly.
The Great Experiment of Western Civilization. An experiment tremendously blessed by the divine, learned and improved upon arguably the two greatest democracies and civilizations the world has ever seen in the Greek and Roman Empires. Our founding fathers were schooled in classical Greek and Roman Liberal Arts.
It was upon those roots that guided our founding fathers in creating the Declaration of Independence and our Constitutional Republic. It was upon these Christian and democratic principles that has governed our nation into becoming the greatest and most powerful nation of all time. America is the strongest and greatest economy, most powerful military, and most representative democracy that the world has ever seen.
While we are not without flaws and grave mistakes such as slavery, civil war, and imperialism, to name a few black clouds. One thing that separates us from other empires that came before us is our resilience and revolutionary spirit.
America has been great at destroying things they don’t like or things that aren’t working. The Revolutionary War being the greatest of those “destruction of institutions.” Whether it be Revolutionary War, Civil War, or Great Depression, America always comes back and rebuilds better and stronger than ever before.
We have always had a knack for innovation and creation. It is that spirit that has made us the global hegemony that we are today and what has allowed the US dollar to be the global reserve currency since World War II. (Although I would argue that was a result of two world wars across the European continent that allowed us to become the bank and lender of choice post war).
With all of that said, President Ronald Reagan once said that we are always one generation away from losing our freedom. As a bicentennial baby and member of Gen X and child of the baby boomer generation let me offer a few warnings or observations to all Americans on our 250th.
First and foremost, “those that do not study history are doomed to repeat it.” History tells us that ALL empires rise and fall. In this author’s opinion, whoever controls the global reserve currency is the empire. Looking at previous empires, there are a few things to note:

- Whoever controls the gold and money makes the rules
- Average lifespan of global empire is 70-90 years, which means the US is on borrowed time.
While the Unites States is the global leader and reserve currency, each empire will fall due to inflation, which is a result of debt.

As the debt bubble gets bigger and bigger, the wealth gap between the haves and the have nots gets wider and wider, which ultimately leads to a revolution and political restructuring, which is sometimes peaceful, but more often than not, violent.
As the United States continues to spend and spend and spend with no end in sight nor any desire to cut spending and reduce the deficits, where along in the chart above do you think we are?

The founders of our great nation gave their lives and their personal wealth, risking treason against Great Britain for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Not to demand for bigger government, more spending, and handouts, but just life and property protection, less taxes, and free trade.
Now, on the two hundred and fiftieth birthday of this great western experiment, we have abortion and euthanasia on demand for the culture of death, eminent domain, massive government bureaucracy and spending, income tax as high as fifty five percent, and tariffs.
Long gone are the days when we had a representative democracy when our elected government lived and worked in those districts they represented, trying to provide for their own families and communities, as part time politicians. Now on our 250th, one thing is clear….
George Washington warned us against the political party system in his farewell address. One thing that has been made clear this past year with the release of the Epstein Files is that we are clearly a two-party system, The Connected Elites, and the rest of the common folk.
